Yes my father was called Lawrence and so was his father. Thanks for your reply.
My father was born at 4 Glasgow rd in 1917. Next to the building Burnview was the Robertson’s ginger beer factory. I remember visiting my grandparents there and there was a donkey called Peggy in a field near to a burn. There was a shop on the corner of the building but I can’t remember the name.
I was thinking about it today as I remember my grandfather telling me about his life in the trenches in WW1. Today is 100 yr anniversary of the battle of the Somme.
