From time to time a great photo arrives in my inbox. This is one such occasion as I’ve never seen this before. It was taken in 1908 and shared by Stephen Hutton. It features the extended Adam family at Shott House, High Blantyre. It’s in good clarity and I recognise William Adam sitting at the front. The house looks so well maintained. I have most of the names.

This came from the son in law of Jeannie Walker Adam (b1907). I think many of these people left for Canada just before WW1 including Jeannie. This photo has apparently been in their family home in Canada for many decades.
Jeannie’s ancestors visited Shott House earlier this month, keen to see the house and area in person. With thanks to them and to Stephen for sharing.
