Adam Family at High Blantyre

Following on from posting yesterday about the Adam Family of Shott House, back in the early 1900’s, another wonderful photo has come in of the same family.

Provided here by Blantyre Heritage Group, this is the Adam Family, formerly of Shott House at High Blantyre. William Adam was a joiner by trade, owning the sawmills at High Blantyre. He was responsible for providing wood and the construction of many homes and other buildings in Blantyre before and after the turn of the 20th Century. I think this picture is around 1900 or so, fashions still late Victorian, rather than the Edwardian styles.
