Livingstone Centre Trees

1930s McNair 800 dpi untouched

Another great photo of the David Livingstone Centre. Shuttle Row peeks through the large trees, a scene quite different today.  This photo is perhaps 1930s or 40s and is courtesy of Gordon Cook.

Andy Callaghan Looked pretty much like this when i was wee
Gord Fotheringham That’s Livingston’s play area
Jim Brankin They had the miniaturised train running round that area late forties I think.
Terry McMahon The grounds were closed off, buildings under construction when we visited in June. Do you know when and why all the changes were decided?
Blantyre Project Hi Terry. The Centre is currently going through a £6.1m renovation bringing it up to modern standards with sustainable new exhibitions. It will be opened again in Springtime 2020.
