1980 3rd Blantyre Scouts

A half Century of Scouting in Blantyre was celebrated in January 1980. The 3rd Boy Scout movement in Blantyre celebrated 50 years of their existence , a Golden Jubilee in the company of two of their original members, Mr. W McDonald and Mr. A Gillespie.

Scout Group Leader R Izett took the opportunity at the party to tell those present that the organisation had never been stronger with Scout membership doubling in the five years from 1975 – 1980.
