Whilst everybody was fairly gloomy with the weather in Winter 1979 into 1980, this Blantyre family greeted the first real snowfall of the 80’s decade with smiles.
In January 1980, the Shaw family from Priory Bridge were out and about at Strathclyde Park enjoying their favourite sport, whilst the rest of the country sat in front of their fires.
Behind the enthusiasm was Mr Leonard Shaw, a cross country skier, who got to know and love the sport whilst on business trips to Scandinavia. His wife Margaret and daughter, Fiona (then aged 6) all caught the skiing bug too.
