Mackintosh Carpets – was located at 243 Glasgow Road, Low Blantyre, G72 0YS at the old co-op building further up the street where St Andrews Hospice shop is.
Mackintosh carpets were at 9 Stonefield Road for many years moving to 243 Glasgow Road around 1989 or 1990. David McIntosh was the owner and according to former employee, Ann Crossar (nee Higgins), the best boss in the world.
They sold floor coverings and furniture and specialised in carpets, rugs, vinyls, laminates, 3 piece suites, bedroom furniture, beds and lamps. Their Phone was 829167 with Wednesday was closing day.
