A nostalgic photo from 1970 shared here by Anthony Smith who added, “There also used to be a post office here. Notice the letterbox. There was also a barber shop in the back.The ally led down into Bairds Raws.Sorry about the photo being a bit fuzzy.My father developed and printed all his own photos.This was taken August 1970.”

The buildings on the right are Gilmour’s and Grant’s Building, to the left was Herbertson Street. The whole scene looks west.
