They Flocked to St Josephs

1998 St Josephs & seagulls by R StewartA slightly more modern story for you today. This photo dates between 1998 and 2000 and features St Joseph’s church, Glasgow Road, Blantyre. Photographed and shared by Robert Stewart, if you look closely you’ll see an unwelcome flock of seagulls on the roof. Perhaps attracted by the heat from the ridge that Winter, the birds chose St Josephs to rest. Robert noted that nearby David Livingstone Memorial Church had no birds on it which was peculiar.

You can see the mess that’s being created on the St Josephs roof from their stay. Robert told me, “I bet the local priest wasn’t too chuffed with his new flock.”
