Another year almost done, another 1,000 people here on Blantyre Project. As I settle down to enjoying Christmas Eve night, I’d like to say ‘Merry Christmas’ and thank you to the 16,000 people following this popular page who follow Blantyre Project articles so avidly here each day. I hope you’re all enjoying the history!
By contrast to every other year in the 2020’s, I’ve had a good year, with my health recovering and looking after myself a little more. It’s put me in good readiness for 2025 and as always, amidst busy work pressures and various other offline venture, Blantyre Project has kept me motivated and interested. Hope you’ve had a good year too.
There never seems to be enough time for writing books these days, but hopefully it’s something I’ll come back to in 2025. I’ve SO many unfinished drafts which call to me every evening when I open my computer after work, including an unfinished first novel!
Blantyre Project is entering its 14th year of daily posts. I’m extremely proud of that commitment and focus, which even I admit at times is “borderline obsessive”. 2024 saw me post more content than ever, embracing the help of AI software to help illustrate some articles. I’ve made some new international friends and without a doubt, learned plenty these last 12 months reading your comments and appreciate all your input, photos and interesting messages. More towards New year about what I’ve got planned for the page in 2025.
What a reach this page continues to have all over the world. Who would have thought this little town could attract SO much attention not just in Lanarkshire, but from further afield and from ex-pats all over the world!? It warms my heart to read messages every week from people interested in what’s being shown.
From Blantyre Project, (that’s me…Paul Veverka), no matter where you are in the world, I wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas. Peace, warmth and happiness to you all over the festive season.
