Well, my BIG day is nearly here. I’m going into hospital for a triple heart bypass this weekend, which means inevitably I’m going to be take it easier over the next couple of months whilst I recover. I’m told i’ll then feel as good as new, which after the poor health felt this last year, is certainly something i’m looking forward to.
A big surgery like this certainly makes you think. Of the past. The present and the future. My motivation for continuing Blantyre Project is driven by my own desire to learn more about Blantyre and of course seeing the enjoyment all the articles bring to people all over the world. It’s been an exciting, proud endeavour for me, an undertaking which has filled a fifth of my life and one which I hope I can continue for more years.
I’ve wound down work and community activities as I prepare for the op. However, Blantyre Project WON’T close, and will continue with daily posts on the main website and on Facebook every day throughout my recovery! This is because I’ve ALREADY scheduled many weeks of new posts ahead to guarantee fresh, new content here for a long time to come. These are all lined up, ready in advance and will appear here automatically, even if i’m sleeping, offline or poorly. This will allow a continuation of an uninterrupted service here, indeed you shouldn’t even notice I’m away!
I’m going into this positively, glad its been caught before anything more serious happens. I have some tough times ahead, but look forward to a healthier me and continuing our Blantyre Project journey in due course.
