Today is remembrance Sunday and organisations, individuals and businesses will be gathering at two locations in Blantyre later to pay their respects to the war dead.
We popped up to Auchentibber at High Blantyre in advance to place this beautiful living wreath at the War Memorial on Parkneuk Road on behalf of all readers of Blantyre Project.
The services will be conducted at 3pm, today Sunday 14th November 2021. High Blantyre Baptist Minister Steve Younger will be conducting the service at Auchentibber and Malcolm Anderson of the Congregational Church attending High Blantyre Cemetery’s Cenotaph at the same time. Each location has been appropriately decorated.
Remembrance is an important day in the calendar for Blantyre Project. So many articles throughout the year are about those who lost their lives in Blantyre. As we all collectively pause to reflect today, we thank all those souls for the sacrifices they made and hope our articles bring their lives and stories to the forefront. Lest we Forget.
