For as long as I can remember, the sloping upper field at Greenhall Park has had iron railings alongside the road. One painted dark green, the railings have been there from the middle of the 20th Century.
Having just been out at the park, the first time in a while, I was surprised to see longish sections of the railings now gone. Not just fallen to the side, but actually removed. Parts were in a bad state last year so perhaps not a surprise it’s been tided up.
Most of the railings ARE still there especially near the carpark, but I have to admit, it does look rather strange just being able to meander in and out from the road to the field now.
