  1. I loved my aunt Nancy, she was so glam.

  2. Tommy and Nancy were my aunt and uncle Nancy’s dad was Italian and she was one of ten children. My mum Amelia was her sister. They grew up in Sandyhills. Aunt Nancy was the youngest and she was so glamourous. I loved her bedroom as she had a really fancy dressing table. We as,a family used to visit the cafe and I loved going there for a pokey hat. Many years later when I was married and inbetween houses my husband and I moved next door to Aunt Nancy Every Thursday she would have a night out at an Italian restaurant in Glasgow. To be honest I felt Sorry for her working in that cafe although she would have worked in her dad’s chip shops occasionally. Linda McKellar

  3. I remember him well, etched in my visual memory bank serving ice creams in their wee shop, and I remember wondering about the family, how come they ended up in Blantyre with their exotic accents? Or am I dreaming?
