Mrs Jessie Paul at Greenhall

1940s Jessie Paul at Greenhall

Pictured in the 1940s is Mrs Jessie Paul of Greenhall. Jessie owned the estate and mansion house and by this time had outlived her husband, but had grown up children. (as well as a massive dog by the looks of it!). Actually, that is one HUGE dog!

She moved to Greenhall in 1921 and was very active in the community. The Rhododendrons in the garden are still there to this day, although now very much larger and of course her beautiful garden is now almost gone, part of the park.
