A wonderful photo from nearly 100 years ago. Shared here by Gordon Frew this was taken at the end of Clark Street, just off Glasgow Road. The tall fence may be Blantyre Vics?

Gordon told me, “My gran is 2nd from right back row she looks around 6 to 8 years old so that’d place it around 1920/22.”

The sun is lighting their faces from the east side, so its a morning photo. No shadows from the homes, so it could very well have been taken in the back garden of the former houses, today where the back of Devlin Grove is located. A lovely photo packed with 22 kids, most likely all local.
