Blantyre Police reported the death of Blantyre man, Peter Colligan (aged 20) on Thursday 13th August 1925.
Born in 1905, Peter lived at 3 Calder Street, Blantyre and on that tragic day, he got a quick lift to work, on a heavy motor lorry. When jumping off at the head of Station Road he fell back on to the road and one of the back heavy wheels passed over his body.
Peter is remembered here today. Pictured is the top of Station Road as it is now.
