Pictured in the 1880’s by J McGhie is a sleepy scene at Bothwell Bridge. A man stands throwing stones into the River Clyde on the Blantyre side. This photo particularly good to see the remnants of the previous Bothwell Bridge (the older arch directly above him).

The man may have been part of the photographers party, the composition looking quite staged. The full photo from nearly 140 years ago is in the National Galleries and shown here
