Pictured here is Mr Thomas (Cutty) Smith of Calder Street. He’s standing in front of the Commercial Bar on Stonefield Road, which was also known locally as Murdochs Pub. Can anybody tell me more about this photo from Neil Gordons book, when it was (70’s?) and why it was taken?
Mr, Tam Pepper was a known manager of this pub, and was affectionately known throughout Blantyre for his love of tall tales. Today, the public house is known as the Priory Inn.
