Advance Construction Scotland is a dynamic groundworks and civil engineering business with an enviable reputation throughout the industry for outstanding customer service. They initially had a head office, essentially a large house on the outskirts of Blantyre directly on the site of the former grand Caldergrove House site near Bardykes which they moved to in 1993, some 10 years after a fire had ruined Caldergrove House.
The business provides professional ground works and civil engineering services, and offers a complete package of labour, plant and materials delivered by experienced and expert engineers and site workers. Accessed from Glasgow Road, near the Priory Bridge, Advance Construction Scotland grew rapidly since Mr. Seamus Shields launched it in 1993. By 2003 the company was turning over £8 million and this year, 2016, is projected to hit the £160 million mark. The growth is a direct result of the strong work ethic embedded in the company by its founder and the committed focus on quality workmanship and excellent customer service. Employees are chosen for their attitude as well as their ability, for their values as well as their skills, for their desire to innovate and learn as well as their experience.
Such growth meant the company rapidly outgrew their premises in Blantyre. In June 2015, they moved to large offices in Strathclyde Business Park in Bellshill, and aptly named their new premises, Caldergrove House, as a nod to their roots. The current brick built house remaining at Caldergrove is known to date to the early 1990s.
