A couple of excellent photos well over one hundred years old! Pictures around 1905 or so is the Wages Office building at Blantyre Works. The building was not isolated or detached, but instead at this time was still terraced.
At the time, the first suspension bridge was still situated some distance upstream and was not on the immediate right hand side of this building , as it is today.
This picture does actually look vaguely familiar, but there were buildings to the left of this photo when it was taken, which were later demolished.
The Wages building was renovated as a modern home and remains today as one of the most unique buildings in Blantyre.
The second photo taken around the same time shows the buildings adjoining the wages building.
