I’ve recently been in contact with a kind gentlemen by the name of Tom Eadie, who is a real font of knowledge when it comes to all things Caldervale / Fin Me Oot. On 3rd November 2014, Tom emailed me with some background information and gave me permission to share some pictures here on Blantyre Project.

Tom was born at Caldervale miners homes in 1935 and lived there as a child until his family moved to Hawthorn Place in 1948.  He attended St Joseph’s school and was a projectionist in the Picture House until he got married and is now a retired photo journalist. His current endeavours see him creating a film about Caldervale, the trailer of which can be seen here:

  1. My grandfather was JosephAllen from fin me lot mother was Monica (Mona) she was the youngest of 10 I believe

  2. My Mum knew Eadie’s from Blantyre not sure if relative will need to ask Questions, one of Mum’s best friends as BettY (Elizabeth) Eadie (married name) fae Blantyre also like us
