You may have seen a few photos on this website that overlay parts of old photos on to modern photos, to put certain buildings and features in to context of where they used to be? I like to call them overlays.
Once such clever photo has been sent to me recently by Robert Brownlie who took the time to expertly overlay the buildings on Main street from a 1905 photo on to a modern 2014 photograph. The buildings on the left and indeed the railway bridge in the background are no longer there today, but it does shows in some detail how part of the street once looked.
Robert’s photoshop skills are clearly better than mine, with a seemless merge.
