1929 The Duncans at Kirkton Park
This photo id dated 1929. My great grandmother Maggie Bowie Duncan on the left with my elderly great, great grandparents John Duncan and Christine Reid Duncan.
This is photographed against the wall in Kirkton Park (still there today) close to their house in Broompark Road. In the background are tenements along Main Street.
At the time this picture was taken , Kirkton Park wasn’t actually there. The wall separated the houses of Broompark Road and Main Street from a swampy field, that became the park in the following few years after.
