On June 11, 1892, around 400 employees from Auchinraith Colliery embarked on an excursion to Edinburgh, despite unfavorable weather. Accompanied by the Blantyre Brass Band, they visited various attractions and returned to Blantyre around nine o’clock, enjoying a fulfilling day out with family and friends.
