Butchers – also known as fleshers as they were known in the 19th Century. Amongst the various butchers within Blantyre over the Centuries were Aitkenhead, Arbuckle, Blantyre Co-operative Society, Buchanan, Clarkson, Craig, Davidsons, Dow, Hobsons, Kane, Peter, Richardson, Rodger, Sweeneys, Thomson and Wylie.
