Today is remembrance Sunday. Blantyre remembers its war victims with 2 outdoor services later today at 3.00pm at High Blantyre Cenotaph and at Auchentibber War Memorial.
As always, on behalf of the whole community of Blantyre and of course those abroad who want to pay their respects, I’ve arranged for two beautiful wreaths. These were bought from Cathy at ‘Bitta Bling’ on Stonefield Road to support local business. I’ve placed one already at Auchentibber as I’ll be attending the other service in the cemetery later today.
I’ll also have a couple of remembrance history posts up on the page later today. Meantime:
“They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.”
