A brilliant photo of the former Boating Pond in Stonefield Public Park. Taken 70 years ago in 1955, the pond had not long been laid out and certainly contributed towards the aesthetics and beauty of the public park.
Many of these trees are still there today and have reached quite a size. What’s your memories of the boating pond?
Well I remember the magic of our park, full of people during the coop fair and almost empty during the week the expanse and luxury of it gave me hoe for a beautiful world… I still love to go each time I’m home, while my feelings haven’t changed the park hasn’t been as well looked after which is sad.
