William Slicer shared this photo adding, “This is the early 1950’s. My Granny and Pappy Broon. Nee Nellie Gibson and James Brown aka ‘Quinny’ Broon. A coal miner and his wife enjoying a day doon the watter on the Clyde, probably the fair fortnight. They lived in High Blantyre then at Auchinraith Rd. Liked a beer or two in the Smiddy pub. I think he may also have been fined for poaching around the Calder River!”
