In August 1977, the play scheme for Blantyre Community Centre started up again after the summer holidays.
There were loads of games and activities laid on at the centre on Glasgow Road. With kids up to age 12, is centre manager Alan Boag. A similar scheme, aimed at entertaining kids through the summer months was held at the Elizabeth Scott Centre on Logan Street.
The kids at Blantyre Community Centre had enjoyed a summer trip to the People’s Palace in Glasgow and various visits to Wishaw baths. Recognise anybody?
