As my daughter celebrates her school Christmas party this week, it reminded me of being around her age and the excitement during the 1970’s of school parties and works parties.
Looking through my old photos, I’ve found these from 1976, where my sister and I went along to my dad’s works party. This was Thomson’s Electrical Engineers . I’m the wee boy with Santa. Every year the workplace held a party for the children of the workers. Highlight was the arrival of Santa. I remember dad telling the children, if you’re very quiet, you should hear Santa coming, but he couldn’t be heard for all the children screaming and yelling as they spotted him outside….me included!
This was 46 years ago, but I still remember doing the Hokey Cokey! Strange things you remember…..
