Remembrance Sunday

Today is remembrance Sunday. Blantyre remembers its war victims with 2 outdoor services on later today at 3.00pm at High Blantyre Cenotaph and at Auchentibber War Memorial.

As always, on behalf of the whole community of Blantyre and of course those abroad who want to pay their respects, I’ve arranged for two beautiful wreaths. These were bought from ‘Dreams to Themes’ to support local business. Thankfully the weather is dry today, so I got up early and placed both wreaths at the memorials. These were placed in advance of the services, as I’m doing a remembrance talk in Hamilton this afternoon.

“They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.”
