When I was visiting the David Livingstone Birthplace grounds last weekend, I decided to take a walk beyond the park and into the wilder field to the west of the playpark. It’s been a long time since i was on that particular piece of land and was pleased to see the path still there, verges maintained and the rest of the field essentially , a wild meadow.
That field has such potential and it would be wonderful to see it developed for further use by the Trust for the purposes of recreation and enjoyment.
Looking back towards the museum, I took this photo, an unusual viewpoint with the museum, pavilion cafe and playpark peeking through the trees. Blantyre is so lucky to have this wonderful heritage site so lovingly protected and once again becoming increasingly popular.
