With South Lanarkshire only having one official registered street party for the Platinum Jubilee, official celebrations seem to be somewhat quieter than they were at the last Queen’s Jubilee. However, it hasn’t stopped many people celebrating in other ways. For example, some pubs, churches and organisations have public events on and all Lanarkshire Schools celebrated with school parties this week. Others have been given the day off work as a bank holiday.
It’s safe to say, those inclined to mark the jubilee holiday have done so in their own way recognising the Queen’s remarkable 70 years on the throne. Getting into the spirit of things, these Alpacas at Greenhall Country Shop and Cafe were painted up for the special holidays.
With thanks to A Rochead for sending in this photo. What are YOU up to today to celebrate?
