1950’s Shuttle Row

Nestled in amongst the trees and natural beauty of the nearby River Clyde is Shuttle Row. This is the second in a series of four postcards from the late 1950’s or early 1960’s. The David Livingstone Footbridge is in the forefront, the previous bridge to the one in that location today. It’s a charming photo postcard which looks very peaceful and a far cry from the hustle and bustle of the former Blantyre Works Mills of previous years.

  1. It is a stunning picturesque (spelling?) setting indeed Paul, and one I recall from my childhood, well not the aerial view of course, but the physical calmness of our surroundings..
