I’ve been sent this photo earlier this week asking “what is it?”
It was found in the field at Fin Me Oot (Caldervale) and looks be be made of timber and iron. I would hazard a guess that with the timbers laid out in a grid format, they acted as a base for something heavier which sat off the ground on the iron frame. The hole in the centre is puzzling too. Truth is, I don’t know what it is, but suggesting it may have been for some kind of tank, perhaps oil or water?
