Following on from the article yesterday about Jimmy Brownlie Senior, it was worth mentioning that his son was the famous footballer, also Jimmy Brownlie.
Elizabeth Merchant shared these photos, telling me, “These are photographs of a medal my grandfather, Jimmy Brownlie, won playing for Blantyre Victoria. The inscription on the back reads… Lanarkshire Junior Football League Championship won by Blantyre Victoria Season 1905-06 James Brownlie. I think there must have been something attached to the front of the medal as there is some solder?”
