
How about this for a cracking photo! This is the former Bothwell – Blantyre railway viaduct spanning the River Clyde. Taken around 1900, this is a peaceful scene with no trains going over it at that moment. Below the railway is the viaduct walkway, entered through abutments at either side.
The Craighead viaduct is no longer there today, all but one of the pillars demolished.
