These two photos are from 1981. Taken on Glasgow Road, opposite from Herberston Street, this looks over not far from the junction of Forrest Street which was just out the photos to the right.
By 1981, demolition of Glasgow Road tenements was well advanced and the wasteland proved popular for parking vehicles of all sorts, including travelling caravans.
I’ll be writing about the north side of Glasgow Road in good detail later in the year . Who remembers this?
