Last Autumn, I was out walking in High Blantyre in particular at Stephenson Way in Hamilton Technology Park, when i noticed a railtrack! Yes, there was an actual railway line, just off Sydes Brae, something not seen in that location for many decades.

On the site of the former Dixons Colliery 2, at Hamilton Technology Park, Babcock Rail have constructed a railtrack, which of course isn’t used by trains, but instead is a safety training facility, used to construct lots of scenarios to help the rail industry.

Babcock is one of the leading specialist training companies in the UK rail industry, delivering a wide range of training services to over 3,000 delegates per annum.

It was still a bizarre thing to see and quite unexpected certainly for me!
