This previously unseen photo is from my collection and is of Greenhall, in 1921, Almost 100 years ago, this is the current west entrance road looking back to what is now the carpark. Crossbow in context would be on the left.
Of course back then, Greenhall House was still standing, a glimpse of which can be see through the trees in the middle of this great photo. My friend, the late Stan Paul gave me the photo a few years ago. I’ve tweaked the contrast and Scotland Colourised kindly added colour, bringing the photo back to life.
I’ll schedule all the other brilliant photos of Greenhall between 1910s – 1940s later this year, when I’ll be writing about its long heritage in some detail.
