How about this for a great photo! Lets go back 40 years to 1980. This is of course Glasgow Road, looking eastwards from outside the Stonefield Tavern. (those horse signs now both in my possession with thanks to Stan Gordon). Priory Street was still a through road, houses going through renovation, Asda and Clydeview Shopping Centre being built in the background. You can also see the square steeple of the former Stonefield Parish Church, which had burned down the previous year.
This was a street going through monumental change.
In 1911, My Great Grandfather , William Mathieson and his wife Mary Mathieson nee Mcquade lived at
