Next, we have a few weddings from 1967.
First up is Miss Ann Wallace of Glasgow Road, Blantyre who married Mr Alistair Walker of Home Farm, Douglas. The couple were married at Anderson Church on Stonefield Road. Alistair was a constable with Lanarkshire County Police stationed at Cambuslang but was in the process of moving to Uddingston. Ann worked at the criminal records department.
Next is Blantyre couple Evelyn Kidd of Clyde Crescent who married sweetheart William ‘Billy’ Gallacher, of Auchinraith Road. Billy was a former Motherwell footballer. At the time of their marriage Billy played with Shotts Bon Accord. The couple now live in High Blantyre.
and finally, Miss Jean Muir of Farm Road, Blantyre married James Robertson of “Greencroft” on Bardykes Road. The couple married in Stonefield Parish Church on Glasgow Road.
