Stephen Watson shared this photo saying, “This is my great granddad (pictured on the right looking) at some sort of shooting event. He died in 1944 after having a heart attack and was found on the Strathaven – East Kilbride Rd. He lived in Muir St, High Blantyre at the time of his death.”
Edward George Tarleton or sometimes Tarlton, died just before 6pm on 27th August 1944. Around those weeks, Allies were pressing into France retaking Europe from the Germans, which would have dominated all newspapers.
The photo is likely 1930s or early 40s. Does anybody have any suggestions as to what local shooting club Edward may have been part of or where this would have taken place?

Clay pigeon shooting.
