Here’s another piece of land that I think could have been put to good use. The old hardstanding of the former garage on Main Street would have made a perfect carpark for a dozen or so cars, especially when you consider just how many cars park on the pavement when a Masonic meeting is taking place in the nearby hall. Instead the ground was fence off.
This picture from 2000 may jog some memories about the garage itself? Can you tell me anything about that business?

Bill Graham I worked there part time when I was a student. The manager was Stuart Farquhar and the owner had another petrol station called grangepeal near Busby. This was in the late 70’s

Daniel Twaddle There is still 2 car parks they can use but they are to lazy to walk up the street and take up all the room on a busy main road when they have there meetings.
