Here’s a wonderful photo of Malcolmwood Farm, (down the Pech Brae and up Lindsay Hill heading out towards Loanend). The photo was taken in the 1950’s and shows the farm whitewashed, by comparison to the exposed stone today.

I remember reading somewhere about the “standard” type “one up” Scottish Farm constructed after about 1750. This type of farm building you will see all over Scotland. Moving away from the thatched style cottage.
