The totals are now in! November was a great month for book sales, (being the lead up to Christmas and when people start thinking of presents). Sales royalties amounted to a whopping £177, which was fully handed over to Blantyre Telegraph for distribution back to the community.
Blantyre Telegraph fundraising has now ended for November 2018 and I’m pleased to announce it raised that month, an incredible £224.47 for the community (which included the £177 above). This was raised from direct donations received from the public, collection tins and the sale of Blantyre Project books!
It was distributed back to the community as follows:
a) £25 was given to local man Barry Watt who took part in a charity walk for Calum’s Cabin.
b) £149.97 on buying fantastic Amazon fire tablet(s) for the Blantyre Telegraph Christmas Competition, for 3 lucky winners, which will end on 16/12/18) and
c) £49.50 for tinsel and baubles to decorate the Stonefield Public Park trees for the festive event and some additional selection boxes when the Santa’s grotto ran out.
This takes the total raised by Blantyre Telegraph to a massive £19,718.85 since we started fundraising in 2014, spread over 115 local good causes. These can transparently be seen here on our newly revamped main website: https://theblantyretelegraph.com/raised/
As always I’m thrilled Blantyre History is being able to help directly with so many excellent good causes. With thanks to everybody who donated and supported us this month, especially those who bought a book. I see already December is shaping up to be another amazing month, so thanks for that!
