In 2015, two brand new wind turbines were erected at Calderside. As pictured here by Alex Rochead, it was noticed that by Summer 2018, both turbines had been removed. I was told by others that for an unknown reason, the turbines had failed to connect to the grid and being redundant, they were removed. The bases are still there.
I’m not sure of the reason and cannot believe that any landowner would not do enough diligence to ensure they could be connected. Being close to the Auchentibber land recently sold, think it more likely the decision was connected to the sale of the land in some way. Do you know more? Please do get in touch.
