1920’s Mystery Photo

1920s Mystery unknown photo1

It’s incredible to think this next photo is 100 years old or so. It’s remarkably clear and although these are Blantyre people from Margaret Stewart’s album, the identities are unknown. A mystery indeed!

It’s likely a studio photo with backdrop, rather than in anybody’s home. The children immaculately turned out, their hair washed, brushed and ribbons in the girls hair. Who were these people? Where was the man in the family? Off to war? What’s the lady clinging on to on her lap. Is it an ‘order of service’ or simply the photographer’s price list!? Again, we’ll likely never know, but such a beautiful photo is worth sharing.

Anne Irvine Brilliant pic, but, they may well be turned out well. The children dont look very happy

Margaret Mary OSullivan Beautiful family.

Moira Macfarlane Beautiful photo,,shame yo haven’t got a name. It would have been interesting to find out, love these photos,,

Marian Maguire A very good looking family. I hope they can be identified

Blantyre Project always worth scribbling a name or two on the back of old photos. They next generation otherwise will find things very hand to work out whos who. I struggle with this even in my own family. My grans brothers or great aunts and the like.
