Here’s a great little read to reserve for a rainy day. A kind man named Dave Henderson messaged me with an interesting online link.
This link will take you to the pages of a book written by William Laird Adam, the youngest brother of his 3rd great grandmother. She and his grandfather’s family worked in in Central Scotland’s mines in the 1840’s. It’s a great read over 55 pages, (for an hour or so) and describes a day trip at one point to Blantyre. An interesting life, he also ends up embroiled in American Civil War and meets slavery head on.

Dave Henderson For many years this story is all we knew of our families history. Recently we have had a breakthrough in our research, we’ve connected with a cousin in Australia and can trace our genealogy to Francis Henderson of Muirkirk in the early 1700’s. I would be very interested in connecting with anyone who can add to this story. I hope you enjoy the story. I’m a proud American of Scottish ancestry.
